Recently I celebrated my 41st birthday. My ability to tell you my age is a testament to how far I have grown in a year. For a while I was 35 years old and holding...but time does change things, for the better if you allow it to happen.
A year has zoomed by and with it my life has been caught up in a whirlwind of activity. All of which I would have never dreamed would have happened a year ago. As I reflect...
One year ago I had a job as a performance coach in a fortune 100 firm. A marriage of about 18 years. 2.5 kids and a dog. I was living the American dream right?! Wrong. As far as my job I loved it, (still do), and was very good at what I did. However it was the equivalent of being the biggest fish in a fish tank. Take that show to the ocean and see if you are still a big fish! My marriage of 18 years was one of convenience. We were both just really to lazy to leave. My kids were and still are the light of my life, but that is not what this is about. This is about me.
A year ago I had 300 friends on facebook, most of them current and former colleagues, no web page, and twitter was something silly to me. I went to work, partied sometimes, and came home.
That was my life.
Fast Forward 1 year, I have published 2 books, written 6 more (including 3 children's books), have 3000 friends on facebook, 1800 fans on my book page, just joined the world of twitter, and of course my own web site. I average 2 - 3 speaking engagements a week, and just launched my own publishing company Twin Power Publishing. I write a Girl! Power column for Spirit Alive Magazine and also Empowered Magazine.
All in a year.
So you may ask me, what changed, what brought all of this on, where did this come from. I have 2 answers to that question. The first answer is the arrogant answer, all of it came from me. The second answer is closer to the truth. It is all what GOD had intended for me. I only needed to answer to call.
This is YOUR year. Will you ANSWER the call for what GOD has planned for you in this world. He had a purpose for you when he created you. I slept for 40 years, just like the israelites were lost in the dessert, just as it rained for 40 days and 40 nights. Now I am awake. Won't you join me.
